I suggest that for 0.9.31 onward, we change SHARED_LIB_LOADER_PREFIX to
MULTILIB_DIR (or another name) that consists of one path component.

You would typocally set that to one of:
- lib
- lib32
- lib64

interp would base off that. see attachment for untested thoughts.
