Summary:                    libelf.so.0.8.5 fails to create / install
Description: 
While running make for buildroot, I get this message:

"configure: warning: shared libraries not supported for
i386-pc-linux-gnu"

It is able to create and install "libelf.a", but not libelf.so.0.8.5.
Is it necessary for the rest of the build?  The option --enable-shared is
used.
