EU cannot mandate anything for a project that's powered by volunteers.
If you're paid by a company to make a "secure" solution based on
BusyBox then there's nothing that can stop your work.

Whether you "accept" the code is irrelevant. You're free to keep your
BusyBox fork, but you're not on the position that can push your vision
onto the original BusyBox project here.
