How to manually configure ethernet from Busybox

Bad news:
this is the wrong ML for this question, There is no busybox bug.

Good news:
i use things like:
 ifconfig eth0 192.168.15.1 netmask 255.255.255.0

this is a working way.

Hint:
you may check the connection using tcpdump.
