hush prompt broken / garbage printed

Hi all,

It seems that something bad happened to hush between 1.28.4 and 1.29.2.
PS1 env is no longer applied correctly. On an uClibc build it prints
garbage on screen. Valgrind reports some errors - attached.

I'm using
export PS1="[\u@\h \W]\\$ "
which used to work fine until now.

Do you observe such issues as well?
