[1.16.2] Can't stop "ping" with CTRL+c

After running "ping", I can't kill it with CTRL+c:

64 bytes from 192.168.0.3: seq=6 ttl=64 time=0.284 ms

This seems to be a known issue:

Does someone why Busybox behaves that way and how to solve this?
