Hi folks,
I realy apprechiated (?) your work and would be very thankfull if you could
help!
I did get this lcd tv as a pre-series-model on a fair for a good price. But
(here comes the but!) it is configured as an IP-TV System. The guys at the
booth told me that it would support also a standard STB (Set Top Box)
feature. It has all the neccesary connectors like ZF, S-VHS, RCA ... and
RJ45.
I am working in IT as a windows sysadmin and I have limited knowledge of
Linux. I have also a good knowledge on computer hardware and electonics.
So I started my PuTTY and were able to connect as root. In a readme file in
the system root it says "IPTV - standard IPTV configuration. STB - standard
STB configuration".
I also did manage to find out that in "/etc/init.d/" are 5 files: rcS*,
S01sysinit*, S20urandom*, S40network*, S50auto*
the rcs seems to just call the other files in ther numerical order. S01 -
S40 seem to be standard configuration. In S50auto it says:
mkdir -p /product
modprobe jffs2
mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock6 /product
sh /product/auto.sh
and in this called auto.sh it says
#!/bin/sh

So, what should I do? how do I change the config so that it will run as STP
and not IPTV anymore? It has recognized my USB Stick. Can I put the complete
running system as backup on this stick to have something working again if I
screw up?
Cheers so much, I hope my english is not so worse as my linux knowledge ...
