Yes, I even remember it. My ls is busybox ls,
and peculiar ls "feature" we now implement is:

# ls /tmp
daemon.7292.log  kde-rootXoabva   ksocket-root

# ls -l /tmp
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           11 May 21  2006 /tmp -> /.local/tmp


IOW: -l doesn't follow links-to-dirs, whereas w/ -l it does.
