problem in building linux single floppy :::Not getting # prompt getting instead i am gwetting $

Hai ,

i am building linux single floppy according to the article posted in linux
journal. u can see get it in the following url.

but when i rebbot with that floppy i am getting into $ prompt. i am not able
to get # prompt

can any one tell me how to get the # prompt
