Is it possible I have some TERM settings incorrect ?? I am just
telneting in from a redhat xterm window. made sure my profile has TERM=xterm,
and I have the /usr/lib/terminfo files..

and Yes Stan, I am seeing that kind of thing also... I open a /etc/busybox.conf
file which has the first three lines empty, then [SUID]. the vi window opens
with the line 1 indication but first line in the window is the 3rd line of the
file.

a cntrl L does repaint the file correctly.. and fixes my issue.
