he meant the error message in the subject :-) not "ls and output"!
i think it has nothing to do with busybox.. the busybox seems to be
linked against libc and on the target libnss_files.so is missing, which
is clearly noticable as /etc/services exists and still service name
lookup is failing (which is done by getservbyname,glibc/libnss_files.so)
