By any chance, did you have /dev/ptyp0 and /dev/ttyp0 on your earlier
filesystem that you used with 2.4, and you don't on your present filesystem?

Or perhaps it also might have something to do with the toolchain. I assume
you compiled BusyBox for 2.4 with the 2.4 kernel toolchain and for 2.6 with
the 2.6 kernel toolchain? Anyways, I'm not really a specialist in this area.
