[BusyBox] shared lib problem, on MIPS

hi -- having just built busybox (from the top of the 1.0.0 cvs)
for a mipsel box, doing a full gcc-3.3 build), i have a question: 
are there any known problems with this configuration with regard
to shared libs?

shared libs aren't working in my build, which is configured as
generic mips, with an MMU -- the processor is an AMD au1100. 
the symptom is a segfault when i run any dynamically linked
binary.

building busybox and tinylogin as static binaries has worked
around this for the time being, but i'd like to figure it out
before long.

mostly this is a "is it just me?" question, but any tips on where
to start looking would be interesting as well...
