[BusyBox] problem with cvs access

It's been many weeks now that I cannot complete a "cvs up".
The update always stalls at util-linux directory.

cvs server: Updating testsuite/wc
cvs server: Updating testsuite/wget
cvs server: Updating testsuite/which
cvs server: Updating textutils
cvs server: Updating util-linux
<stalls>

$ cat CVS/R*
busybox
:pserver:anonymous at busybox.net:/var/cvs
$

I use 
cvs -z3 up -d -P

I can cvs other projects/repositories fine.
I tried deleting the util-linux dir and the entire busybox tree with no
luck.

What should I check?
