Hi Larry,
First of all, thanks for your response
I found out why I'm getting the "linuxrc: applet not found" message. In
Config.h, I have BB_INIT and BB_FEATURE_LINUXRC defined, but not BB_LINUXRC
(Shouldn't this be on by default?). Therfore, linuxrc was not added to the
applet list in applet.h. Ok, now the message is gone, but I now get "Out of
Memory" messages from the kernel. I stopped in "oom_kill" (out of memory
kill function in the kernel) where the out of memory message was being
printed. I then did a stack trace. My stack was huge which caused the out
of memory error, with kernel_thread calling itself over and over again. I
gave up printing the stack after 5000 or so of these kernel_thread recursive
calls. Really strange.
I tried the .50pre code with the same results. Also, since the 2.3.99
kernel worked for me with BB 0.45, I decided to try BB 0.49 with it. Guess
what, it also got the out of memory error and the kernel tried to kill
linuxrc.
I must be building my kernel differently than you since you have things
working with 2.4. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
