Reproducible on OpenWrt using BusyBox v1.4.2 and v1.8.2 (current svn).

Reproducible in v1.11.2
Perhaps dig could be added to BusyBox?

This patch from 2001 was supposed to implement it, but appears to be
broken.

That code *was* added to busybox (around 6 years from now), but you also
need a fixed uclibc. Specifically, you need uclibc after revision 24059.
uclibc-0.9.30 does not include this, 0.9.31 will.

It also should work on glibc, can you verify this?

Thanks for the update vda!  So what you're saying is that it was "just"
changed in uClibc since r24059 is only 2 days old?  OpenWrt uses uClibc
0.9.29 so I guess I'll have to open a ticket over there.

Basically, this will fully work on busybox 1.14 + uclibc 0.9.31, whatever
those will be released. glibc + IPv6 address of DNS server still is not
working. See busybox's svn nslookup for more info.
