Query, should LINUXTHREADS_OLD be hardwired to y and the config option removed 
for the 0.9.29 release, since the non-old version doesn't actually seem to 
work right now?

I know 0.9.30 is going to make huge changes in this space, I'm just talking 
about 0.9.29...
