How to build arm-uclibc-gcc?

I need a "mini" toolchain to cross-compile applications for an ARM7TDMI
processor. I don't want a whole toolchain, just need arm-clibc-gcc (ver
2.95.3) and libraries. I already have an arm-uclibc-gcc binary currently
working on my machine (Ubuntu).

Could this binary work on other Linux distros?
Should I compile arm-uclibc-gcc for every Linux distro?
Where could I find arm-uclibc-gcc sources?
Do I need binutils to compile arm-uclibc-gcc?
