That one in the libm/ directory? That's quite IEEE-specific. VAXen
predate the IEEE standard for floating point number representation and
really use a different format.  I've heared about other generic libm
implementations, but I haven't yet looked at those. (I kept hacking
at other building places where I didn't really need that libm:-)
