[uClibc] tinyx Xvesa server lockup

I have made a modification of the
host.def file:

#define XvesaServer             YES
and of course this builds the Xvesa server
I then created a chroot that contained
all the uclibc libs, bash etc.
when I run Xvesa inside the chroot.
Xvesa runs: I get the herringbone
pattern and X11 cursor but the
cursor wont move and I am unable
to close using ctrl+alt+backspace.
Any ideas on what i am doing wrong?
