[uClibc] How to compile the gdb to arm platform ?

Hi, all :

I am a new hand in this field.
I download the gdb-6.0.tar.bz2 from http://sources.redhat.com/gdb/ .
And then i use cross-compiler gdb to arm platform.
But i have a problem when i configure the gdb.(as following)

command :

  CC=arm-uclibc-gcc ./configure --host=arm-linux

error message :

  checking whether the C compiler works ... configure : erroe : cannot run C
compiled programs
  If you mean to cross compile, use ` --host ' .
  See ` config.log ' for more details.
  Make : *** [ configure-readline ] Error 1
