[uClibc] Question on 'C compiler cannot create executables' error message

Hi,

I've searched the archives and found several messages that relate to
this error message.

We are building for cross-compiling running the toolchain on an x86
machine with our target being a mips little endian board.

One of the e-mails from last year says to check the NOTE section of the
buildroot README file for details on adding a symlink to some library.
the e-mail doesn't give specific details and the latest buildroot README
doesn't appear to have any reference to this.

So have things changed so that there is supposed to be no need to add
the symlink anymore?

If not I'm probably just overlooking something pretty simple, or I
haven't found the proper README file.

Has anyone else found the definitive answer to the problem and how to
get it corrected? If there is some new documentation that clearly
explains the cause(s) of this problem and how to debug/correct it could
someone point me to it?

Thanks,
Burt
