[uClibc]uClibc and large file support

Hi all,
I'm having a heck of a time getting uClibc to compile successfully with
large file support. I am compiling against linux 2.4.20 kernel source
which should support large files (the current running kernel on my host
system is not 2.4.20, I'm assuming this doesn't matter as long as the
target system kernel is 2.4.20). DOLFS is set to true in uClibc.
uClibc compiles fine with no errors, but then when I build Busybox,
util-linux or e2fsprogs I get an error that uClibc was not compiled
with large file support.
I do not need or want large file support, but it is apparently
necessary to get util-linux or e2fsprogs to compile. Does anyone know
what may be the problem with my uClibc build or know a workaround to
getting util-linux and e2fsprogs to compile without large file support?
I am using uClibc-0.9.15. I have also tried uClibc-0.9.17 but switched
to 0.9.15 because the install_target make parameter in 0.9.17 seems to
be broken.
