[uClibc]root_fs_0.9.17-i386 - bugs in libtool?

the libtool bundled with the prebuilt root fs contains:

# The default C compiler.
CC="/home/andersen/CVS/buildroot/build/staging_dir/bin/i386-uclibc-gcc"

and

# The linker used to build libraries.
LD="/home/andersen/CVS/buildroot/build/staging_dir/i386-linux/bin/ld"

which, for some reason, do not appear on my system....
