[uClibc]gcc strings?

As a temporary workaround to the previously mentioned installation
problems, I started to simply move the contents of the various
_install directories to my intended installation directory. Before
doing so, I did "strings gcc" to see what paths were built into the
compiler. It (erroneously, IMHO) compiled in the paths to the _install
directory under the build directory.

Shouldn't it be using the directories specified in Config?
