Well, not too ling ago I went through 322 patches in dash and about 40
of them were fixing actual bugs and were worthy of backporting.
Last ones were from 2016.

IOW: dash is not dead. Bugs were fixed there recently.

Overall, out of 322 patches, 276 were either already fixed in bbox ash,
were backported during this review, did not apply to bbox ash,
were optimizations or refactorings and were backported to keep
codebase less divergent.
A few are still classified as TODO.
About 40 more... I'm unsure what to do with them. They are complex
and touch code which was changed significantly in bbox.

I don't want to make future work on bbox ash (which includes taking useful
work from dash) even more difficult than it already is.

If I add your patch to bbox right now, and they dash adds it in a different
form, the work for bbox will need to be undone and redone again.
