hi Martin,
i did not check but please try the following:
CFLAGS= -marm -mthumb-interwork --sysroot=/opt/poky-1.7.3/sysroots/armv5te-poky-linux-gnueabi
The CC is for the compiler only
CFLAGS are the "argument" for CC
