couldn't this be achieved with a simple script:

BTW:
coreutils/groups.c: In function ‘groups_main’:
coreutils/groups.c:27: warning: ISO C90 forbids mixed declarations and code
BTW2: seems to work without memory allocation:
char *id_argv[3];
if (argv[1])
bb_show_usage();
id_argv[0] = (char *)"id";
id_argv[1] = (char *)"-Gn";
id_argv[2] = 0;
return id_main(3, id_argv);
