Rather than special-casing whether every system has sighandler_t and
possibly breaking things if that changes, why not just do the
following unconditionally?

typedef void (*bb_sighandler_t)(int);

Then use that in place of sighandler_t. Or just write the type out
everywhere it's used. It's not like this type is allowed to differ
between systems.
