Using the keyboard.  We do not know enough of what has happened to help
you.  Rather, you sound like someone who is just in a panic and rather
than doing some rational thinking about what is happening, you expect us
to instinctively know the situation and know what to do.

I might wear a pointy hat but I'm no wizard.  My crystal ball got lost
in the Brisbane floods.

Some questions :-

- What sort of system is affected here?  Small embedded device
  (manufacturer and model would be good!)?  Desktop computer (Linux
  distribution name would be good!)?  Server?  What is it?
- What function is this thing performing?  How critical?
- Are there any backups of its data/configuration?  Can the
  configuration be rebuilt from scratch?
