funny, using git in general is a hell of a lot nicer than using svn when it
comes to dialup. no need to access the network for anything like logs or
historical diffs.
the initial pull is different, but subsequent updates are better with git.
svn needs to check every directory for an update. git only asks for new
changesets.

i know what you're asking and as i said, there is no tool that i know of to do
what you want. not that i agree with what you want in the first place.

ive already converted and thrown out my svn repos, nor do i complain to other
projects when they decide to make scm changes (unless they pick a stupid scm
like monotone, but that's a different story).
