Can you tell me a bit more about it: is it a part of any
standard package already in use, or is it in use
as a standalone utility by some projects/distributions.

How big is it ("size symlink.o" output).
Give usage examples.

Why it cannot be implemented as shell script, or why
shell script implementation would be much slower
or otherwise awkward.
