By now trunk contains brctl with is about 280 bytes for the basic set of
operations (addbr/delbr and addif/delif) and about 980 bytes for the
other management operations, fwiw.

Please give it a whirl (and implement show, showmacs, showstp like
suggested in http://busybox.net/lists/busybox/2008-January/029795.html
