Yes.  It does fix the display problem, but it does not display the 'bogus
unix line' message.  net-tools both fixes the display and shows the 'bogus
line' message.  I think I already filled a debian bug on this, some time
ago.  Let me check...  Yes:

AFAICS, no solution is available yet.
