that's not really a compelling argument.  it's well known that linux
distros come and go *way* more frequently than windows releases.  and
RH 9 was officially *obsoleted* just over two years ago as well.

in any event, it's not a RH release thing, it's a make release thing.
no one's asking you to drop support for RH 9.
