msh bugs

Hi :
  I was using, the following script gives me "syntax error"

#!/bin/sh
tarball="test.tar.bz2"
echo "installing package..."
log_and_report()
{
    errlev=$1
    echo $errlev
}
log_and_report $1

------
Any script with function insides seems give "syntax error"
Does msh support that at all?  msh is the only working shell on my platform!
