You can make contributions to GPL'ed projects with other licenses as
long as they are all compatible.

It is fine to add BSD code, there is already a bit of BSD code in
busybox.

Because the GPL doesnt allow any restrictions other than what it
advocates it means distibution is still limited by the GPL license.
