  at least for bb 1.1.0 it does not seem to work:

./wget -c --user=pippo ftp://ftp.roberto.foglietta.name
./wget: unrecognized option `--user=pippo'

./wget pippo:pippo at ftp://ftp.roberto.foglietta.name
wget: not an http or ftp url: pippo:pippo at ftp://ftp.roberto.foglietta.name
