[BusyBox] followup to Re: pre-commit feedback, please

I made a new patch and added it to the bug system with a note on the
size reduction.  This is drastically smaller, and more consistent with
other BB applets now.

Somebody (hopefully the originator of this applet) should try it out
to make sure I didn't seriously break anything in the process.
