[BusyBox] Question on udhcpc?

Not sure if it's ok to ask a udhcpc question here, but since it is a part of
the buysbox cvs.....

I'm having problems getting udhcpc to work from anything other than the
command line. For instance, I run it from an rc.sysinit script via the
following line:

[ -x /sbin/udhcpc ] && /sbin/udhcpc

and it fails to obtain a lease. However, once I get a command prompt (via an
askfirst in my inittab), the same line of code obtains a lease on the first
try.

So my question is: what am I doing wrong this time?
