[BusyBox] Init Problem - Newbee Question

I just got through fixing this problem. There could be several reasons
why this doesnt work. For me, I am running everything in 'bochs' and I
never got the initrd, ramdisk to work. So that may be a problem. I also
never got lilo to work properly with a disk, (so if you are using a floppy
boot disk), lilo seems funny with this approach. So I went with 'grub'
which worked a lot better for booting off the initrd. Plus with grub it is
easy to rebuild without messing up your main system. Make sure you have
ramdisk support in your kernel, I think in the menuconfig there is a option
for initrd support also. Now I havent tried this 100% but once I finish I
might be able to help. You can most stuff off the floppy in the beginning
and then change your root(chroot) to a ramdisk. And with this approach
decompress a root directory from busybox as opposed to 'initrd'. This is
tricky. Say, root.tar.gz unzip to /dev/ram0, for example.

And last but not least you have to make sure that you have an /etc/inittab
and also make sure you have login/getty from tinylogin or wherever.

Did I confuse you?
