[BusyBox] History and tab completion busted

Hi.

I'm using busybox-0.60.3, against uClibc-0.9.11, for i386, using
gcc-2.95.3. I am running busybox on vanilla linux-2.4.17, patched with
FreeSwan 1.97.

After booting, I can hit Enter to activate the console, as usual, but
numerous quirks appear.

1) Hitting tab for completion sometimes eats the first or two first
letters of the command at the commandline, e.g
ls /etc/init<tab>
usually eats the l from ls.

2) the cd command (e.g cd /etc) always gives
command: No such file or directory

3) Hitting up-arrow for history, the previous command is usually skipped,
and I sometimes the [[A instead of anything, and the first one or two
characters of the previous command are usually eaten off

4) Issuing any command has about 75% chance of working. A few letters at
the beginning of the command are usually eaten, or appended from the
previous command. Repeated invocations of ls usually result in either ls
(most of the time), s (some of the time) or llsls (or similar, some of the
time).

5) Also, job control does not even with askfirst as mentioned
elsehwere, enable, but that may be totally unrelated.

I do not apply any patches, my CFLAGS are:
"-march=i386 -O3 -pipe"

My Config.h file is attached.

Kind regards,

Karl T

//#define BB_FEATURE_BUFFERS_GO_ON_STACK
