[BusyBox] awk & depmod

First, i need to apologize for my really poor english :(

I'm trying to run a fix that removes unresolved symbols from pctel
linux2.4-modules, but it needs awk and depmod.
i found a depmod.pl inside busybox, but... it's .pl :\ and i can't install
perl into the embedded, do you know where can i download a shell based
version? hope can run it with ash.
do you know where are mawk sources now a days?

do you know if i can run this can of fixes outside the target machine?
