Ok, I have it doing what I want, if anyone cares to, the final cut is at:

This one I just chopped a lot of stuff out so I could see to think.

I fixed the lengths of terminal down to 32 and id down to 16,
added a 'status' flag ("HERE" and "GONE"), and modified the
'delete' routine to just set it to "GONE" so that reload
doesn't try to re-do run once stuff.  The reload only
loads new IDs- it won't modify or delete existing
stuff.
