Here's the URL to the original message that you are quoting:

http://busybox.net/lists/busybox/2001-February/001904.html

The very next line after the ones you quoted reads:

However, I'm starting to think that there isn't really a need for this
	feature. Read on.

And the remainder of the message gives my explanation for not commiting the
change to CVS.

More recently, I went back and tested your new applet_name_compare function
and gave an even more lengthy explanation for why I didn't include it. One of
the major reasons was that it was broken; it found the wrong applet.

This makes twice now that I've had to explain to you why I'm not going to
replace bsearch with your linear search code. Twice, despite your continual
complaints that I ignore you and don't give explanations. I'm tired of
explaining, I'm tired of your complaining, and I'm tired of the whole bsearch
discussion. I'm not changing the bsearch code, period end of discussion.

If you want to carry on extolling the virtues of a linear search, feel free,
but don't expect me to participate any more.
