I really like Evin's patch.  Manuel and I have been working on an update that
combines the best features of both Manuel's and Evin patch.  Manuel has been
doing most of the work on this, and expects to have things finished up this
afternoon.  This patch will simplify all usage calls to just show_usage(), just
like in Evin's patch, and will also avoid duplication of applet names in the
usage test. 

I am not aware of any outstanding patching from Larry.  He has been working on
eliminating recursive Make, but has not submitted a final patch to my
knowledge.  He has been working on parser.c, but that is not completed yet.
