[BusyBox] weird lash behaviour

Im trying to use lash on a boot/root floppy, when i boot i get the
message "press a key to activate this console", i press a key and then
get a prompt, if i try and type in a command after i type the second
letter it acts like a carriage return.

It seems like sometimes the first character of a command gets lost, and
then occasionally they all get dumped out together as an attempted
command.

Its a strange description for a problem, but im sure if someone else has
experienced this they will know what im talking about. I am usign a
devfs kernel, dont know if that would affect it though
