Well, maybe it should be documented in README:
1) Only Linux (but all architectures) - don't bother compiling under
Cygwin, HP-UX etc
2) Tested mostly with 2.2.x, there are known problems with 2.4.x, don't
know about 2.0.x

Writing README will save time answering e-mails :-)
