yep, this was a bug ;-)

attached is a patch to fix this, not very much to do, though (the strcmp if
the option begins with "e" has to be without the "e" , "xclude"...)

so now that it works, i start making the -X switch, shouldn't be so hard,
--exclude almost does the job.
