Summary:                    spurious output from modprobe
Description: 
if you run `modprobe` on a system that lacks /etc/modprobe.d, you get
spurious warnings now:
root:/> modprobe fat
modprobe: /etc/modprobe.d: No such file or directory
root:/> modprobe -r fat
modprobe: /etc/modprobe.d: No such file or directory
